Symi | Original Senses

Unknown Paths / Aegean Sea

Stylish Symi is an architectural wonder. All along the horsehoe harbour and up the surrounding hills are colourful mansions built by spice merchants and sponge divers in the 18th and 19th centuries. The rest of the island has barely any houses at all, just dozens of monasteries hidden among pine and cypress groves. Water taxis service the blissfully remote beaches, improbably equipped with humble canteens or homespun tavernas.
