Simply Greek / Aegean Sea

Thousands of Greek Orthodox pilgrims climb up to the cathedral of Panagia Evanglistria (some on their hands and knees), which presides over the scrappy harbour of Tinos. The rest of this rugged Cycladic island is miraculously unspoiled. Hidden in the hinterland are almost 50 stunning villages, finely decorated by local marble craftsmen. A flourishing food scene and fledgling surf school are bringing new acolytes to this unsung beauty.
